On January 21st, the Hanoi City Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Motherland Front Committtee held a meeting with leaders from other provinces and cities announce the celebrations to mark a 1000 years of Thang Long – Hanoi.
The 1000th anniversary of Thang Long – Hanoi will be an important event for the capital and the country.
Hanoi’s plan to organize the event is aimed at expressing gratefulness to ancestors who made great contribution to national construction and defence, and passing this historical tradition on to the masses, especially young people.
The plan to welcome 1000 years of Thang Long – Hanoi includes a drive to create literature and arts, build outstanding works, hold events according to the count-down clock from 2008 and a hold great festival in October 2010.
